Desmond McCall

Des is a Chartered Structural and Civil Engineer, with over 30 years’ experience. He has worked in highly respected consulting structural engineering practices in London and the south-east of England before setting up his own practice in 2008. Des’ wide experience ranges from multi-million-pound reinforced concrete and steel framed buildings, to bespoke domestic projects. He has particular expertise in designing structures on confined city-centre sites and refurbishment of older, historic buildings.

Des also has extensive experience with international aid agencies providing water, sanitation, and shelter in emergency environments. He retains involvement with the humanitarian sector, having been deployed with the International Federation of the Red Cross/Crescent to the earthquakes in Turkey in February 2023, and to Ukraine in 2022
