Tom Bedford

Consultant Engineer

Tom is a Fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers and a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers. After closing his own practice, he has joined Haworth McCall as a Consultant, bringing with him his long experience of working professionally in Brighton – serving clients nationally and internationally.

In recent years he has become involved in a number of landmark schemes where the emphasis has been upon sustainability; this includes the Earthship in Brighton, an off grid building that heats, cools and powers itself from the sun, harvests its water from the sky, and treats its wastewater onsite using plants. He also worked on the University of Brighton’s Waste House, which was made entirely from materials that people have thrown away
