The Beeches Pavilions, Birmingham

Haworth McCall provided structural engineering design services for two sustainable, contemporary, and practical modular buildings at a Birmingham school.

We designed the buildings using screw pile foundations to avoid the use of concrete, ensure foundations are removable and to prevent damage to nearby trees. The substructure, walls and roof are timber framed to reduce embodied carbon in the structure.
The new classrooms are set to become a specialist hub for young people with learning difficulties which will open a wide range of experiences and opportunities to better suit their learning and growth.
